Firstly THANK YOU Emmet & Ciara! What a privilege to be flown all the way to Ireland to photograph this wedding! I photographed her sister Ailbhe & Tomas’ destination wedding in Cape Town, and there I met Ciara & Emmet. Not only was it an amazing experience, but your hospitality was unbelievable – I have never been treated so well!
It was a beautiful day starting with the moon setting on the one side and the sun rising on the other! What made this day even more amazing was the fact that we had sunshine, which created the most beautiful light, but don’t let that fool you, it was still very cold! The bride had to be the hero of the day facing the cold all in the name of beautiful photos! Go Ciara!
The ceremony was held at the Honan Chapel on the grounds of the University College Cork. Both the bride & groom have to be ex-graduates to get married there, due to the popularity of the venue. What makes it more special, is the fact that Ciara’s parents got married there 30 years ago!
The wedding reception was held at Castlematyr Resort in Cork where we took the photos with Castle Wall ruins in the background. I remember stopping at one point and thinking – “I cant believe I am taking photos with a old a castle in the background so far away from home!”
I really enjoyed how relaxed the guests were at the wedding. (Locally, people seem to want to rush through everything for some reason.) They had some great entertainment including “surprise opera singing waiters”, a magician, the Bugle babes and then off course Spring break with their 80’s style outfits! Really great performers!
A fun wedding tip – the couple made round name tags with the names or nicknames of the guests at the reception which they could keep as gifts.
Overall it was an unforgettable experience and once again thank you so much Emmet & Ciara!

I had a really great time photographing this wedding! It was fun getting the shots of the groom getting dressed with the help of his best men and we did some really cool mafia style shots with them. I remember the grooms father really enjoying those! It was the first time I shot in this church and interiors of made me feel like I was shooting a wedding overseas in Greece! Their wedding reception was held at the Rotunda at the The Bay Hotel.

I am very excited to start blogging images from my recent trip to Ireland to photograph the wedding of the super cool couple Ciara & Emmet! These set of images was photographed a few days before their big day on the university grounds where both of them graduated. It was a very cold afternoon so we found some shelter in the hall where they did their final exams and got their degrees-I am sure then standing in the window ledge wasn’t allowed! My only problem with shooting overseas is that I cant get enough of it!!! Next time I am taking models with that I can just shoot all the cool locations I see! Any volunteers?

I just received the email this morning that the premier issue of Izzymag is live! Before we get to my wedding I must say that the layout and photography throughout this magazine is breathtaking! I have seen so many of my weddings published and many times I am a bit dissappointed with the final layout and choices of images, but this time I am thrilled with my wedding featured! So well done to Izzymag! Now I am happy to say that amongst the mostly US weddings I got a South-African wedding published! (Pg22-26)
The weddings in America are also so awe-inspiring so brides to-be please go have a look and get great ideas for cakes, flowers, fashion and off course wedding photography-me!
I am really happy to be a part of this premier issue and I wish the editor and her team great success with the future!

Their beautiful wedding was held at Clouds Estate in Stellenbosch and it was co-ordinated by Rozanne from Aleit. I really had a good time shooting this wedding. A great idea from this wedding was the sounding of the vuvuzela, done by the guests, right after the minister said, “You may kiss the bride.”
